If you are interested in getting married or having your marriage blessed in church, please feel free get in touch.

Christian marriage at its best is much more than just a legal contract and many couples find that a service in church somehow highlights the deeper, more ‘spiritual’ aspects of their commitment, even if they are not regular worshippers. A good marriage brings a man and woman together in a profoundly enriching, lifelong relationship. It provides a stable foundation for family life, in which children can be nurtured. In addition, it can provide each member of the family, in good times and in bad, with strength, companionship, comfort and love.

We are licensed to conduct wedding services at both All Saints in Mill Street and at Christ Church, Malling Road. Recent changes in the law also mean that it is now much easier than in the past for couples living outside the parish to be married in Snodland. Further information about Church of England weddings is available on the website: www.yourchurchwedding.org

If someone has been married before, that is not necessarily a problem. It depends on the circumstances. The Bishop has laid down some guidelines for clergy, which the Rector follows and which he would be happy to discuss with any enquirers. Our church is delighted to help and support couples, who are considering this step of marriage. Preparation meetings are normally held on three or four occasions prior to the big day.

Some couples who have undergone a civil ceremony feel at a later date that they need an additional religious ceremony with more spiritual depth. For such people we can offer a Service of Blessing (officially called a Service of Prayer and Dedication after Civil Ceremony) Older couples who wish to celebrate an important wedding anniversary can find an adapted version of this service an appropriate and meaningful way to mark their special occasion.

For all enquiries, please contact the Rector, Rev’d Danielle Pearson-Smith, on 01634 240232 or e-mail her at revpearsonsmith@gmail.com
