Get Involved

Give your time,  and leave a legacy in your community

There are a number of ways you can get involved and help support our church, from visiting us and attending events, to volunteering.  Or you might like to make a regular or one off donation to support the current and future work of our church, our activities and the upkeep of our buildings.

Volunteer

There are a wide range of volunteer opportunities at both All Saints Church and Christ Church and with the Friends of All Saints Church. These can be linked to our Church’s work and mission or fundraising, whilst other opportunities form part of our community outreach and engagement.

Examples include:

  • Community Engagement with our ‘Here for you’ Community Hub, Coffee Break for pre-schoolers or Mix & Fix.
  • Children’s church groups, Messy Church, Children’s Church and Youth Alpha
  • Fundraising – As part of our team who lead events to raise funds towards a future new community church hall, or to support upkeep and preservation of All Saints Church or as part of our team involved behind the scenes in larger funding applications to support the ongoing care and activities led at our churches.
  • Becoming part of our Green team who work towards making our church greener and more sustainable through being part of the A Rocha Eco Church scheme.
  • Becoming a welcomer, reader or lead prayers at our services.
  • Assisting with catering at larger events; preparation, serving and helping in the kitchen.
  • Or other areas like cleaning the brass or flower arranging.

To find out more about some of the above groups and what happens look on our Church Groups page.

If you’d like to find out more about any of these opportunities or if you feel you may have other skills or interests you could bring we’d love to hear from you. Contact our Church Administrator initially to find out more.

Friends of All Saints Church

Regular financial support from the ‘Friends’ is vital for putting this national and local ‘treasure’ on a secure footing for the future. The greater the membership, the more we can do.

So whether you might be able to support us financially across the year or help through volunteering at our events, why not come and join us?

The Friends of All Saints put on various events throughout the year to help raise funds, which often include annual Open Days, music concerts and more, alongside having a presence at church and community events.  They are always happy to welcome more volunteers to join the team and help at these events.

For further information contact Les Yates (01634 240722).

Give a donation

All Saints with Christ Church relies almost entirely on the financial support of its church members. We are now making greater use of our buildings and running more activities than in any recent times. It costs more than £1300 each week to do this. If you do not already support us financially and would like to, there are a number of ways to do so.

You can give to All Saints with Christ Church in a variety of ways:

Through a Bank Standing Order

You can instruct your bank to pay us a regular amount, monthly, quarterly or annually. We have forms you can complete and give to your bank for this.

Through the Envelope Scheme

If you would like to join this scheme, you will be given small envelopes covering each week of the year, though there is no obligation to give every week, and the amount you give each time is entirely up to you. This might be a good option if your income varies.

Through the Plate Offering

We take an offering during our 8am, 10am and 5pm services.  There is also an Offering basket at the back of both All Saints and Christ Church where you can either leave a cash donation or envelope. If you pay into our bank account you can pick up one of our small payment cards to put into the basket if you wish to, as recognition of your donation.

Through our SumUp account:

At some events our card reader will be available, and in both churches, and on this website, there are QR codes which allow you to donate £2, £5, £10 or £20 using your phone, via Apple Pay or Google Pay.

Gift Aid your Giving:

Taxpayer Gift Aid:
If you are a taxpayer, you can add Gift Aid to your donation. This enables your gift to be increased by 25% at no extra cost to you, provided you pay sufficient tax to cover what we claim for your donations. There are white Gift Aid envelopes in both churches. If you give regularly, we have a form you can complete so that you don’t have to give all your contact details with each donation.

Non-Taxpayer Gift Aid (Gift Aid Small Donations):
Even if you are not a tax payer, we can claim Gift Aid on any cash donation you make up to £30 per gift. Unlike taxpayer Gift Aid, there is no need to provide any personal information. Unfortunately, this does not apply to gifts made via SumUp, by cheque or directly into our account.

Legacy Giving

Leaving a gift in your will towards the work of our continued church ministry and community activities and outreach may be something you wish to consider.  For further information please visit the Church of England using the link below.
