Christ Church Community Hall

The church hall (or ‘tin hut’ as it is known to many) is situated on Malling Road opposite St Katherine’s Lane and next to Christ Church. It was first erected as a ‘temporary’ building to mark Queen Victoria’s Jubilee.

It is used on a regular basis by a wide variety of organisations as well as for occasional events such as children’s parties, quizzes and training.

2026 hall hire charges

– £15 per hour (May to September) 

– £18 per hour (October to April)

Our hall hire includes access to all the facilities, including the kitchen area and a variety of tables and chairs.  WIFI access is available as part of the hall hire too.

*Please note that the hall is usually not available for hire on Sundays as it is used for church related activities.  Any any Sunday bookings outside of this time MUST be connected with church activities e.g. a baptism party.

** Please note that unfortunately at this present time we are unable to accommodate bouncy castles or inflatables for party bookings. 

We are in the early stages of putting a plan together to replace our ageing church hall with a modern, accessible building that will better serve both the church family and the wider community.  

Thank you to all those who completed the survey as part of the consultation.  The feedback is now being reviewed and will help us to continue to develop our plans, helping us to ensure the new hall is fit for purpose and for all potential users
